Merchandise Sales Tent
This is our festival store where you can purchase t-shirts, stainless steel water bottles, festival stickers and performers’ cds etc. It is located in the Troubadour Compound.
Venue 1 Community Centre
The Community Centre complex includes the Progress Hall concert venue, the small room with a kitchen that we use as the green room and the Maldon Seniors’ rooms where the seniors host the instrument lockup. The garden area houses a coffee vendor, a food vendor and the bar. It is a fenced compound due to liquor licencing. Tables and chairs are set out in the garden so you can eat and drink in comfort.
Progress Hall concert venue – this is our main venue with full seating inside a hall which seats approx. 300 in concert rows, a space for dancing when required and a moving light show to accompany the music. We program most artists in this venue, from soloists to bands so you have the opportunity so both listen quietly or dance depending on the act you go to see. There is standing room too.
The Progress Hall is open from Friday evening to Late Sunday night. This is a ticketed, licenced venue and no unaccompanied youth or children are allowed. There is a water filling point here to fill up your water bottles.

Venue 2 Troubadour Wine Bar
The Troubadour Wine Bar is MC’d by Andrew Pattison and helpers. This is a marquee in the Maldon Memorial Gardens, with a 9 inch high stage so the audience are intimately involved with the performers. The gardens also have a children’s playground. This is a listening venue with no room for dancing. We program quieter acts here and the atmosphere is respectful of the artists and the audience so all have a chance to experience the music. There is a full pa with static lighting.
The gardens house a coffee vendor, a food vendor and the bar. It is a fenced compound due to liquor licencing. The marquee holds approx. 250 people seated at trestle tables, and more are able to sit outside on the picnic tables or on the grass. Seating is provided inside the marquee. There are round tables with chairs under the tree outside the marquee.
The Troubadour Wine Bar is open Friday evening to 6pm Monday. This is a ticketed, licenced venue and no unaccompanied youth or children are allowed. There is a water filling point here to fill up your water bottles.

Venue 4 Anglican Church
The Anglican Church is a functioning church that the festival uses for the acoustic concert on Saturday night, with both downstairs and upstairs seating. All performers perform without pa, microphones or stage lighting. This is a unique venue with brilliant acoustics. This is a ticketed venue on Saturday.
On Sunday there is the church service, followed by our regular gospel concert and then some more gospel singing. This venue is free on Sunday. There is no food or drink available here, so remember to bring a full water bottle.
Venue 5 Anglican Church Hall
The Anglican Church Hall sits at the back of the Anglican Church and is used for workshops. It has a small kitchen where you can fill up your water bottles but no other food or drink. This is a free venue.
Venue 6 Maldon Hotel
The Maldon Hotel venue is in the restaurant area of the Hotel. The stage is 9 inches high and seating is around dining tables so you can order meals and drinks at the bar. The restaurant area is ticketed only entry during concert performances. The is a bit of noise bleed from the main bar which is expected in this type of venue so the performers programmed here tend to be the ones that can be heard in a pub setting.
Venue 7 RSL Hall
The RSL Hall is a small room behind the Athenaeum library that is used for workshops. It has a small kitchen where you can fill up your water bottles but no other food or drink. This is a free venue.
Venue 8 Maldon Vintage Machinery & Museum
The Maldon Vintage Machinery & Museum is a large compound just outside the main street of Maldon. This is a licenced venue and no unaccompanied youth or children are allowed. The museum itself is free and open to all over the weekend. The Weighbridge Stage is a free outdoor stage with seating around tables in front of their café which sells Devonshire teas, plunger coffees and as well as a BBQ.
The Cymru mine concert stage is housed in the big shed at the back and this is a ticketed, licenced venue and no unaccompanied youth or children are allowed. This venue has full pa and static lighting and seats approx. 200, with standing and dancing room at the back of the shed. The acoustics are very good. Something to do with the vintage steam machinery lining the side walls. The acts programmed here are similar to those programmed in the Progress Hall.
Alcohol is available from the bar at the front of the Cymru mine concert stage and can be purchased from both inside and outside the shed. It is possible for the museum volunteers to fill your water bottles if you ask.

Venue 9 Rotunda
The Rotunda is an outside venue where we put the children’s circus on Saturday and Sunday.
Venue 10
St Brigid’s Catholic Church Hall where you’ll find the Friday and Saturday dances.
Venue 14 Victorian Goldfields Railway
The Victorian Goldfields Railway hosts our performers in two of their first-class carriages on two special train trips on Saturday afternoon. The train travels to Muckleford and back in an hour. The acts perform acoustically and swap carriages at Muckleford so everyone gets a chance to see both acts. Drinks are available from the bar in Macedon carriage. Our festival wristband gives you a special discounted train ticket for only $30. These must be booked before your trip.
Venue 15 Instrument Makers Exhibition – CFA
Our instrument makers exhibition is held in the engine bay of the Maldon CFA on Saturday and Sunday.
Venue 16 Kangaroo Hotel
The Kangaroo Hotel is a session venue, with sessions in the main bar and the beer garden. They also have a restaurant where you can sit in comfort and still hear the session from the main bar.
