A popular feature of the Festival, the Musical Instrument Makers Exhibition, provides an ideal forum for makers of hand-crafted musical instruments to exhibit and to share their knowledge and skills with performers, patrons and their peers. Instrument makers are invited to apply for exhibition space. Details below.

Invitation to Submit an Expression of Interest to Exhibit
Once again the Instrument Makers Exhibition will be held in ‘Wheel & Loom’ building, Main Street, Maldon within the central the shopping area (not the Festival Office). Festival tickets will be once again be obtainable at the Festival Office building, High Street, Maldon (opposite the town gardens). The entire festival will be centred in Maldon township, as it was last year; there will be no venues at the ‘Butts Reserve’, except for the Session Marquee. The usual camping areas will be available.
We estimate that 10 exhibitors can set up in the ‘Wheel & Loom’ building. Some exhibitors could set up on the street, under the verandah, outside the building.
Successful applicants will be provided with a ticket / arm-band + one additional ticket / arm-band for a co-exhibitor / assistant / partner. A camping ticket for ‘Butts Reserve’ will be provided, if required. Each exhibitor will be asked to contribute $ 10 towards covering costs.
Exhibition hours are 10.00 am to 5.00 pm Saturday & Sunday. Exhibitors will have access to the venue for set-up from 8.30 am Saturday and trestle tables will be provided.
Expressions of Interest to Exhibit Instruments at the 2017 Maldon Folk Festival must be submitted by the 1st September 2017, so we can reserve your space and ensure that your details appear in the Festival Program. Please supply a brief biography (maximum 100 words).
Due to space limitations, we may not be able to accept all applicants, but makers who don’t get a spot this year will be considered for future years.
Maldonites Brian Cuffley and Jill Findlay will coordinate the Exhibition again in 2017.
