Festival Events Programme & Performers List

The Festival provides four days of entertainment - featuring over sixty acts in a host of venues, including the Guinness Tent, churches, pubs, galleries, an open-air stage, the Tarrangower Wine Tent, plus many more. All venues have disabled access.

Programme Outline
Musical Theatre and Theme Presentations A variety of themed musical and spoken word presentations.
Special Events Band Rotunda concert – Saturday featuring the Maldon Brass Band, the O’Shea-Ryan Irish Dancers and Marimba Belles & Beau.

Bread, Wine & Song: A Celtic Folk Service – Anglican Church, Sunday morning

Guinness Tent Special Reserve Concert – From 11am Saturday - a quality concert featuring some of the country’s finest performers.  Some seating supplied or bring along your own.

Soul Music – Uniting Church, Sunday morning – Traditional Church Service and featured musicians.

Gospel Concert – with Jeanette Gillespie and friends, Anglican Church, Sunday afternoon.

Traditional Bush Concert – Sunday afternoon featuring a host of traditional musicians.
Children’s Workshops and Activities

Two days of specific kid friendly entertainment.

Saturday – the Children’s Music Circus at Tarrangower Reserve, a full day of music, workshops and entertainment for the young and the young-at-heart!

Sunday – the Children’s Marquee at Tarrangower Reserve.  Free, hands-on Art and Craft activities.  Adults kick back and enjoy the main concert while we keep the kids occupied in their very own venue right next-door!

Festival Market The market will run on Saturday at the Primary School, 8.00 am - 4.00 pm. 

Quality merchandise together with family-friendly local entertainment. 
The Spoken Word Vintage Verse – Saturday morning.
The Yarn Event – Saturday afternoon.
Poet’s Breakfast – Sunday morning.
Rhyming at the Rotunda – Sunday afternoon
Swagman’s Breakfast - Monday morning.

...and themed Spoken Word presentations throughout the weekend.
Dancing

All traditional, yet very different:

Old Time Bush Dance – Friday evening with the Gay Charmers Old Time Dance Band

Family Bush Dance – Saturday afternoon with Brewer’s Own Bush Band.

Traditional Irish Ceilidh – Saturday evening with The String Contingent.

....and don’t miss the Britannia Morris Men and the O’Shea-Ryan Irish Dancers in Main Street throughout the weekend.

Instrument Workshops Workshops (from beginners to advanced), covering a diverse range of musical instruments.

Maldon Minstrel Award
Maldon Minstrel Award -  Sunday morning.

Singing and Songwriting Workshops Workshops in a variety of singing styles on Saturday and Sunday.

Audience participation welcome.
The Sessions and Chalkboards

Tarrangower Reserve Session Tent - follow the lights and noise Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.

Instrument Makers Exhibition Maldon Community Centre - All day Saturday & Sunday.

From across the country, talented artisans make the annual pilgrimage.  A wide range of acoustic instruments, introduced by their creators.
