Maldon Minstrel Award
The Maldon Minstrel Award is a special event for budding singer-songwriters on Sunday, this song writing competition is for singer-songwriters to demonstrate their ability to tell a story with their own music in a purely acoustic venue.

Judging is by live performance in a Sunday morning concert. Entrants will have 10 minutes to demonstrate their writing and performing skills to the judges.
More than one song is expected to be presented, although this is not obligatory. All songs must be original and written by the performer. Lyric sheets are not required and there is no entry fee.
The winner will receive a recording session courtesy of our sponsors at Bald Hill Studio in Carisbrook, the Maldon Minstrel Award prize plaque and a guaranteed gig at the following years festival.
How to Enter
Entry is at the Festival office from 9:30am on the Saturday of the festival and only the first ten entries will be accepted. No entries will be accepted prior to that time.
